PEARL RIVER, NEW YORK -- For the month of March, I used 700 kilowatts less electricity than the previous month, yet O&R charged me $100 more than the previous month's bill. I called on 4/3/13 & spoke to a Supr. Allen who told me he would check and call me back which to this date, 5/1/13, he has not. When I went to pay part of the bill which seemed appropriate, the woman at O&R would not admit that they could be mistaken and acted as though they were GOD !

I imagine that there are thousands of bills that have been mis- calculated. If this happened to you, please make your complaint heard.

Last month they may have estimated your meter reading and this month actually sent out a person ti read it. That's what usually happens to me when my utility bills are out of wack.

Is it possible that one or more of your bills was an estimate? I know that's a pretty common practice around these parts.

I thought most of the houses have digital meters nowadays.

My electric bill was the highest of the last year in Feb - problem was, the house was shutdown in Jan and Feb (using no elec). I called and was told they estimated my bill for November and December, so I was paying for their catch up.
