Yahoo Complaint - Hijacks of personal photos

Review by neoviky on 2006-02-21
I send Yahoo this short and sweet e-mail:---

I am not able to download my original
size of the photo that I had uploaded a
few years ago. This restriction amounts
to HIJACKING of personal information. I
am taking this to the media/google news
if I am not able to download the
original size of the image. The
original image is not your property but
a personal photograph. You should have
a way to download the original image,
just like in a e-mail attachment.
Please respond within 2 days and give me
access to the original image.

....and got this reply:

Hello Vikram,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Photos.

We apologize for the inconvenience the changes in Yahoo! Photos may have
caused you. Please note, we no longer offer the ability to view or
download the original, high-resolution versions of your online photos.
Please note that if you order prints or other photo merchandise online,
we will use the high resolution version of your photo to fulfill your
order. Please see the Yahoo! Photos Terms of Service for more

How much are you paying them to store your photos?

Why not just use the copy you have on your home PC?

You need to read Yahoo's terms of service cause once you upload your pics or anything else to there site, Yahoo has full rights to them. Yahoo can do what they like. In this case, if you want full pics, Yahoo is going to charge you for it. In the future don't use Yahoo, cause what you thought was yours, is no longer. Get an external hard drive for storing pics. They are cheap and worth every penny.
