It isn't just Blue Cross, most insurances are raising their rates in the past couple of years with the premiums increasing at a faster rate than before due to the Affordable Care Act. We also have Blue Cross with my husband's employer in Florida. Our part of the premiums has increased a hundred dollars a month since 2010, we are now paying just over $400 a month and while we have major medical it has no vision or dental coverage and we have never had the option for those coverages. We have a rate increase every year and I don't see it getting better, just more unaffordable.

Rates increase yearly and will continue to increase.
Many insurance companies are trying to recoup costs associated with obamacare. If the insurance company doesn't increase their rates then your employer will by making you pay more each month so they can pay less.
I believe the majority of the rate increases are tied to obamacare since the insurance companies will have a cap on yearly increases so they're trying to get it before 2014. Don't forget, they have to now cover people with pre-existing conditions and also
children under their parents plan until they're 26.

If you voted for Obama then don't complain.
