Allied Mortgage Complaint - Bad refinance story!

Review by joys93gt on 2001-12-02
LANCASTER, PENNSYLVANIA -- My husband and I refinanced through Allied Mortgage- located in Lancaster, Pa. 2 days before settlement we were told everything was fine and our refinance was on track. 3 hours before settlement we got a call from the Manager stating that we owed over $900 in escrow! When I questioned her repeatedly for proof of this she gave me none and threatened to sue us if we refused to pay the money and go to settlement! She said they would split the cost because they "liked my dog", and she even wanted me to take out a cash advance on my credit card! (I am giving the condensed version of this.) I have written to my Attorney General- Mike Fisher. All I got was a letter saying they needed Allied's address- they don't have one. These people work out of their house. They are not regulated by the BBB or the Realtor's Association. We did not owe any of this money it is a scam!

You should contact the Banking and Insurance Commission before doing business with any mortgage companies. I work for a Mortgage Company and I tell all the borrowers to contact them if they are hesitant to do business with us. Good Luck!!
