Disney Complaint - What happened to the quality of the animated features?

Review by N. on 2006-02-22
What happened to the days when Disney actually released movies with quality in them? Back in the day, we had The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Lion King, etc. All great movies. Now all that Disney releases are crappy 3D computer generated films about crazy animals. The only good film Disney has released in the past 10 years was Pirates of the Carribean. Does Disney have actual artists employeed in their studio anymore, or are they all just fat digital media/film majors? The all 3D films were great when they were first introduced with Toy Story, but now the whole 3D thing is overused, overdone, boring, stupid, insipid, etc. Why can't they release any 2D movies anymore? And why can't they be like the classics?

What are you talking about? Monster Inc and Finding Nemo were no duds. I wasnt much of a fan of The Incredibles, but it was a hit with kids.

Oh and I forgot to add The Emperors New Groove! That wasnt a "computer" animation and it was funny as hell!

The Emperor's New groove came out a long time ago though. I'm talking about currently. Treasure Planet would have been great if it wasn't chalk-full of futuristic bullcrap. I'd like to see another Beauty and the Beast/Aladdin/Little Mermaid type movie; no stupid movies about 3D chipmunks who can belch their ABCs.

How about Atlantis.. with the old woman smoking throughout the movie. Now that got me mad considering it was a kids movie.

Jesus Christ...I gotta ask how old are you? Not to be mean but I would bet you 2 are older and you're not exactly Disneys target audience. They could probably care less what some old crumudgeons (I include myself in that) think about their pictures. As long as the brats are happy Disney is happy. I go to all the movies and their subsequent ice shows and believe me the brats are happy.

Excuse me but the 3D chipmunk you speak of is not in any disney movie 2nd that chipmunk is a squirell

Over the hedge is a dreamworks picture of which belongs to Universal Studios

As far as the 3D movies have you seen Cars yet now that is a good movie its not only a cute movie for kids but it also has historical points for those old enough to remember when I-40 first got built.
