Dish Network - Dish Charged for Service After Termination Date, Refused to Reverse
Customer Service - Complaint
KINGMAN, ARIZONA -- On March 19, 2013 I cancelled the Dish Network TV service I had. On March 25 I contacted them due to receiving a bill for early termination of service and found that it was my telephone and internet service that was charging me for these fees. My phone company waived all the fees and had a satisfied customer of over 20 years. On April 27, 2013 I received a bill for Dish Network services for Cable TV service from April 20th through May 20th. When called they immediately cancelled the service and informed me that they would be cancelling service effective on March 19th, but I found out that they actually cancelled with the effective date of April 27th and refused to date it back to March 19th. I spent 3 hours on the phone today with Dish Network talking to one person after another to no avail. They insist that I should pay for the last month's billing even though I did call on March 19th to cancel the service and they admit that I called on March 25th asking why they were charging me for early termination of service. Why would I call asking why I was being charged for early termination of service if I had not cancelled my service? They claim I never called on March 19th and that I must pay the last bill even though I was not using their service. I will make sure that I notify others of this poor customer service from Dish Network and will inform everyone I know not to use their company and that they are crooks. My phone company paid Dish Network for the billing due to the cable service was bundled and Dish refuses to refund all of the payment. Dish Network would only have to waive $13 for a full refund (due to pro-rating for April 20th to April 27th), but due to not caring about their customers they do not see it that way. Really they received an extra month's payment already because I had already paid the bill for March to April and had cancelled the service. I left their company due to the cost of their services was too high. They basically called me a liar that I did not call in to cancel my service on March 19th and I will never use their service again. They lost a customer because of poor customer service and $13. I am presently using another company for cable, internet and phone, identical package and I am saving myself $40 per month and the service is much better than Dish Network. Dish Network additionally refused to give me an address to write a complaint to and only would give me some bogus email that does not work. I will continue to write complaints until I receive proper satisfaction. I did not serve in Iraq for 7 years and 4 months to come home and be taken by anyone. I stand by my rights to be treated right.
