Kennedy Space Center Federal Credit Union Complaint - KSC FDU Stole my money

Review by RippedOff001 on 2006-02-22
MERRIT ISLAND, FLORIDA -- Had $22 in savings with them. Originally had $5 but over many many years it accumulated. I have another bank thats closer so I figured I would keep that account alive if I ever moved back. Came back on holiday to deposit some more cash into it and found out the account was closed. They upped the minumum deposit from $5 to $25 and basically closed my account and took my $22 because it was below $25. They refused to give me my $22 and would not repopen the account. Thieves.

On a seperate incident with them my brother had accumulated some dept with a repot and other expenes. He is not all there. He got $5000 from a settement so we agreed that we would pay off his dept with that. His dept was like $10,000. I called up all the financial instutions and agreed to settle for half owed. KSC agreed as well. We paid them $750 of the $1500 he owed and they said it was settled. Months later he had the bill of $750 on his credit, we called them back and they denied the whole settlement. Said the $750 was a payment. Our fault for not getting it all in writing.

KSC FDU will rip you off if the get the chance. Watch out.

Most banks charge a fee to any account that is inactive for a certain amount of days. My son's account was wiped out this way. Perhaps that is what happened to your money.

So let me get this straight... if they don't agree to settle for half of what you (or your brother) owes them, it is a rippoff?

The day of having a piddly amount in an account with no activity is long gone! Since your $5 grew to be $22, that's one heck of a l-o-n-g time.

Really $22 from $5? That's years and years of being dormant. I've heard it's five years of inactivity and a bank can claim ownership to account money. This is so small accounts like yours can be off the books if you have no interest in them.
