Dish Network Satellite Internet - I've Had It for Ten Days and I'm Very Very Pleased!
PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA -- I live in a rural area and my only choices of Internet were mobile wifi or Satellite Internet. I first tried a mobile wifi and I have such poor cell phone reception my only choice was to fasten it to a pole and strap the pole to the end of my deck. That got old after a few months so we bought a cell phone repeater well that worked "good enough" at least we didn't have to strap it to a pole. Shortly after that the wifi died and we bought another mobile wifi. Although the unit said we had 3G coverage it didn't not function like we had 3G it was more like fast dial up. That wifi died within a few months after buying it we bought another unit and once again the unit said 3G but it acted more like fast dial up. The unit would intermittently switch between 3G and 1x and download speeds were very slow. I run an Internet based business and the connection was so slow I couldn't upload pictures. After just a few days with the new wifi I decided to try Dish Network Internet. I called a few people I knew who had Dish Internet and they were pleased with it so I decided to give it a try.
I called on a Saturday to order it and they were here the next day and within 24 hours I had a brand new dish internet installed. The technician was very friendly and he even put covers on his shoes so he wouldn't dirty our floors. I've had it for ten days and I can't say enough good things about it. I've actually been able to watch short and long videos without buffering!
I don't know about live streaming though. I'm sure live streaming should work better than my mobile wifi. A month ago I tried live streaming a Bon Jovi concert and with the mobile wifi and it stopped every 30-60 seconds to buffer. My job is going much better quicker and easier I experimented with uploading a very big picture and it uploaded in less than 60 seconds. I was never ever able to upload any type of larger picture with my mobile wifi in that length of time. I would usually start the process of uploading the picture then wait 5 or more minutes for the uploading to finish.
Heavy traffic websites like Facebook, twitter and eBay load very quickly. Social media games like Farmville also load quickly. To sum it all up if you are like me and you live in a rural area that has poor cell phone reception and your only choices for Internet are Satellite Internet or a mobile wifi go with the Satellite Internet you will not be sorry!
