HAMPSHIRE, ILLINOIS -- Direct TV has to be one of the worst choices I have ever made. The first phone call I had in with them was wonderful. When I first signed up, the man on the phone said I would be locked in for 12 full months at $39.99. At month 10 I was up to $72.00. Despite me calling several times to find out why, all they could offer was to lower my package (when I was already at the most basic package with no movie channels).
Unfortunately, my step father recently passed away and my mother had to sell the house we have both been living in so we are parting our separate ways. I am moving into a building whose lease states they prefer no external dishes to be installed as they already have contracts with companies. When I called to try and get them to work with me, myself being a broke college student struggling to keep up with my classes and pay for my expenses, all she kept saying was "sorry ma'am it's policy". I have never felt more like a number in my life.
All I can say is that I would NEVER recommend this service. Every single time I have contacted people from direct TV I have gotten nothing but headaches and rude people. Mind you, I am very polite and reserved on the phone because I know that if I'm not it will get me nowhere. Little did I know I would get nowhere anyways. Bottom line is, stay away from Direct TV.
