AT&T - Can't activiate because I don't (obviously) have an active account...
Web and 800 Number - Complaint
Helped 85 year old mom buy a phone at Fry's, didn't work (tiny keyboard). Exchange at Fry's was smooth (kudos to them), but activation of AT&T (or reactivation because original number was activated) stalled. Old sim card was declared invalid and new sim card prompted messages to call 611, etc. But calling 611 was declared invalid because, you guessed it, sim card wasn't activated. Web wasn't any better.
Only options were, yes, call 611, or live chat. But live chat required (activated) phone number to get to anyone.
