ANTHONY, NEW MEXICO -- 2006 and GREED is ever alive and well at the good ole' United States Postal Service. I phoned my local post office here in New Mexico to find out if I could pick up my mail first thing in the morning on Saturday. I was informed that there is a two-hundred "call in service" fee for me to do that. Then I get this (postal worker undoubtably of the belief that this fee is justifiable--gee who writes his pay check?) who says in a patronizing tone, "If every one of our customers asked to do this imagine the problem we would have?" I cannnot believe it isn't free one time a year per tax paying adult!!! I can see a clerk fee of maximum twenty dollars, but two-hundred dollars?
