Sears Lied- Attempted Not to Honor Extended Warranty
CHRISTIANSBURG -- I bought a chain saw and an extended warranty with which comes a free annual maintenance tune up and cleaning, It broke after 1 year and they kept it for 8 months before returning it to me repaired. I kept calling every 2 weeks to see if it was ready and they kept telling me it would be another week to 10 days. They are supposed to give me a loaner saw when it takes a long time but they told me it would be just another week so wait for mine back. After 7 months of that I went into the store and said I want a loaner and the dept manager told me the same tale- it will be just another week. I told him I have been told that 14 times and want a loaner and he just kept repeating. I kept telling him my side. Then he said he had no loaners and could not help.
It says in writing that you have to get a new one out and loan that if there are no loaners. Just as he said there were no loaners, a new Sears employee overheard and said that there are 8 rebuilt saws right over there that came in yesterday. The manager's mouth went into a disgust position at that statement and I could see in his eyes that he knew the saws were there and was LYING LYING LYING ! I got my loaner and left. In the last month of the warranty I took my saw in for its free annual check up and Sears kept it until 2 weeks after the warranty had expired. My saw had been sabotaged and the engine blew out after about 2 minutes of use.
