Budget Car Rental - Started Off Bad but Ended Very Well!
BATON ROUGE -- To whom this may concern,
I asked my wife to call about a car rental this Memorial Day weekend. Her Mom was finishing a 2 week visit and we were making plans to get her back to Texas. My car's AC went out so this was the next option.
She made the reservation and all was set to pick up a mid-size car on Friday evening. When the pick-up time neared, I realized that a Saturday morning would be better. I called the local Budget office and stayed on hold for 20 minutes! Exasperated, I hung up and called back. Then I was informed to call original 800 number to revise pick-up time. By this time I was a bit peeved but Tory at the 800 number revised all to my satisfaction and gave me a $5 discount. Went to sleep feeling better.
Upon arriving at the local airport to pick my mid-size car up, I was informed that I had no car, ONLY trucks were available. The agent, Carol, I believe, profusely apologized but I still wasn't getting a car. Well, she set me up in a Ford 4dr pickup and I could see more $ signs for the gas mileage difference. However, we made the trip in roomy comfort and all seemed ok. Then, when we arrived home, my wife informs me that we had $100 more charged to our card! I quickly called to inquire and found out this was a deposit. Well no one explained this to me, so I called customer service once more and Lurunda was most helpful! I explained the good and bad of my experiences and finished with a remark as to the amount of gas used as opposed to a mid-size car. She quickly offered to take $25 off my bill! Wow! She is the reason that I'll always use Budget for my car rental needs in future! I will also refer others to them! Thanks Budget, you really do care about the customer!
