Hoggys Restaurants Informative - Warning - Restaurant & Catering

Review by MsM on 2006-02-26
COLUMBUS, OHIO -- I believe in Karma but sometimes Karma needs a little help. So I am posting this warning-Don't go to Hoggys.
I chose to leave Hoggys after investing many years towards their success and my own. Why? Beause narcissism and fear are the only words to discribe the work atmosphere. It is an attitude that flows down from the top. The "Owner/Operator" has no concept of quality of life, honesty, or appreciation. Calling a manager during his mother's funeral to tell him he would not be paid for the time off, firing workers because they are too fat, cheating clients, encouraging bullying, lying, and sexual harassment. Need more examples? There are so many more. Making promises he never intended to keep, witholding support for projects other that his own. Not wanting to be bothered with the details his only concern is himself and his own lifestle. Even his "Good old Boys" are afraid to disagree - voice a different opinion - to question what is right or wrong. But of course he picked them for their lack of self respect.
Karma is catching up - last year the investors closed Hoggy's Office in Wothington and moved it downtown to their Steak Escape office. Have things changed? I have serious doubts. My previous boss is a master at deception.
Like I said at the begining, Karma sometimes needs some help. If you work at Hoggy's leave (Life after Hoggys is wonderful). If you are customer go somewhere else (your money supports this Narcissim - remember your hard earned dollars pay for his golf games and lifestyle).

Sounds to me like maybe it was not msm's choice to leave Hoggys.

When were you fired? If you planned to do a monthly posting, you're 4 days too early.

What is Hoggy's?

Maybe next month you can claim there are rat feces in the baked beans! I bet Hoggy is really starting to regret letting you slip away.

Random Acts performs Murder Mysteries at Hoggy's in Valley View and the staff we have encountered seem to enjoy working there.

I was wrong!

We have performed there for over two years and watched the manager-go-round. It became increasingly clear to us that Hoggy's has no respect for their employees AT ALL.

I was totally SHOCKED at the way Hoggy's handled the recent firing of managers and other employees.

Random Acts NO LONGER performs at Hoggy's in Valley View. We refuse to work with a company that treats employees so badly.

I totally agree. I worked for Hoggy's for several years, and separated my employment with them because of the constant negativity, that DOES come from the top down. It was a great move, I didn't realize how unhappy I was until I removed their poison from my life.
The senior managers...aka "Boys Club", have pompous attitudes. A, "do as I say, but not as I do" attitude. They overwork and underpay the staff. They are not friendly to women, unless the district manager is sleeping with them. They don't set up their employees for success.
I found the senior management underqualified as well as unprofessional. The CEO likes to keep dumb people around him because they're easy to manipulate and he's threatened by smart/educated people. While I was working there, none of the male district managers had college educations, and they lacked critical thinking skills. They were basically white trash with authority trying to prove they were classy...I was not convinced. If you like Hoggy's...fine eat there, but I highly recommend you avoid working there. They make promises they can't keep, and do not provide an ethical work environment.
