Lowes - Granite Countertop Fiasco
Granite countertops - Complaint
FLEMINGTON, NEW JERSEY -- I placed an order for custom granite countertops for my small kitchen on May 2nd. First of all, the order itself took over an hour and a half. Then I was told the contractor had 48 hours to contact me to schedule templating. After 8 days, I stopped in Lowes again, and asked why I had not heard from anyone and one of the employees actually said to me "wow, you should contact someone." (?! seriously???!!) I left a note with the person whom I placed the original order, and she contacted me the next day. Then contractor then contacted me 48 hours after that. This was a simple counter top, nothing special, according to the templater, about a 3 hour install.
Now.. here it is 5 weeks later.. I had left an email with the contractor, who never responded, and after a call to Lowes Wednesday, found out my granite is on back order. Meanwhile.. I am upset, my contractor is upset, my husband has taken off time from work to prepare for this (because we are doing all the rip out, etc..) and Terry from Lowes, had the audacity to tell me my expectations were out of line. I canceled my order immediately.
Why would I want to do business with someone who does not take my business seriously? A kitchen remodel is difficult enough, without having to deal with the ineptitude of Lowes on top of it. I will NEVER order anything from them again.... EVER.....
