CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- We have home insurance with Travelers over 12 years and recently made a claim for a very 1st time to fix the fence gate which only costs $600. Soon after that, this company sent us a letter refusing to renew the policy. We called and were informed that the reason was we've made a claim and it costs them. This is just plain wrong. I hope someone would read this and be careful when making decision to do business with this company.

First, I don't think it was a wise decision to file a claim on a $600 item, especially if your deductible was close to the cost of the repair. Second, many insurance companies now look at any claim as an exposure to risk, and while many will simply raise premiums, some will cancel rather than take a chance on any future claims.
