Family Auto Mart - Too Good To Be True
Cadillac SUV - Complaint
MELBOURNE, FLORIDA -- I have been dealing with this company for about a month and a half now. I purchased a Cadillac SRX from them. Being I have rough credit their vehicles were nice and the prices not so bad. They had a "finance company" that does their loans which I was convinced was a separate entity. It is not. It is located right int heir office on the lot. I had my car only for a few weeks and the transmission went bad. It was replaced and I had to pay out $400 to get it back. Then I had it home not even a full day and it died on me again.
Now it is sitting in my driveway and will not start with the key stuck in it. I have no clue what could be wrong now. They are "always busy". Don't do well with returning calls and seems that more is wrong with it now that I got it "fixed". They seem to never have paperwork when asked for and when I asked for a copy of repair bill, they could not produce one. They only would give me the invoice which was billed to them, not a shop.
When car started acting up I was told if I don't want it, I can leave car there and owe nothing, which made me skeptical. But now they already have my down payment, plus the "tax" money they claim couldn't be added to total bill (another clue not independent form fin ace company). So now I am out of money a repair bill and my vehicle I traded which was RUNNING no matter how bad it looked outside. I regret ever having dealt with them at this point. Waiting to see if they will ever rectify the situation. I know buying "as is" is the issue here, but I feel they take advantage of honest people who just want reliable transportation and have shabby credit so rely on the easy financing. The cars look good....but don't run.
