Canon Compliment - Great Customer Service and Warranty Work!!!
I purchased a Canon SD110 digital camera last year from a third party seller on Amazon. I got the camera very cheap because this was an older model and Canon no longer made them, the seller must have gotten ahold of the excess inventory and was selling them off. For the last year the camera has worked great, I have carried it around with me everywhere and it has really seen some wear and tear. Then out of nowhere I got the dreaded E18 error, which I found out is quite common with Canon cameras. A number of websites suggested trying to fix it by forcing the lens to open and close by twisting the body of the lens and pushing quite hard on it. After that didn't work (in fact have made it worse), I went to the Canon website and filled out a repair submission form and sent my camera to them with a copy of my receipt from Amazon (I was one week away from the the one year warranty), I figured they probably weren't going to honor it since they camera was such an old model and the whole third party issue but gave it a try anyway. If they were going to charge me to fix it I would have told them to just keep it since it was so cheap in the first place. Well to my surprise they sent me an email stating all repairs would be covered for free. They fixed the camera and shipped it back to me with in 10 business days. It was nice to see a company that actually honored the warranty without any hassles or delays! Thanks Canon!!!
