Priceline - Unethical Business Practices
I booked a cruise on Priceline on May 26, 2013 and due to change at work cancelled my cruise today (6/16/23). Priceline charged a $25 booking fee and $119 for the travel insurance neither of which they would refund. I do not personally recall hitting the accept button for the conditions but of course, they put it on the top of their e-mail thus encouraging people to hit the button before they have read the conditions. This is itself a shady business practice. It seems to me highly unethical for Priceline to keep the money for travel insurance and to insist it can only be applied to that particular voyage.
This is a warning to all not to buy travel insurance that cannot be changed or cancelled and not to use a company that engages in unethical business practices. I personally will not be using Priceline for travel and they have lost a lot of potential business since I love to travel.
