Dr. Pepper Snapple Group - 2 Liter Bottle Change Long Overdue - Will It Fix Problem?

For almost a year, I have been battling a problem with 2 liter plastic bottles of Snapple, in lemon and peach flavors. The symptoms are randomly, and more recent less random, the tea is bitter flavored.
I have called Snapple's 800# on multiple occasions to describe the issue, the lot number, where purchased, etc. The problem was not related to age of the product (using the lot #). At first I thought it was a storage issue related to one particular store's supplier. Then I noticed it in bottles from multiple stores.
About a month ago, the bottles at one store changed to shiny/smooth plastic, whereas all the bitter bottles had a textured feel to plastic. I thought "new plastic - they've found and corrected the problem." The one smooth plastic bottle I bought tasted great.
Then a week later, all the bottles were back to textured. I have five different opened 2 liter bottles in my fridge of bitter tea, waiting to return to the store. I found the 20 oz glass bottles on sale a few days ago, and felt like I was drinking honey relative to the chemical taste out of the plastic.
Today I visited two different stores, and both had total stock with shiny smooth plastic bottles. It may be that Snapple has finally done something. I hope so - the other product would drive customers away in short order. Once I run out of the glass bottles, I will give the new 2 liter plastic a try.
