Personal problem - Caller Hanging Up Each Time I Pick Up. Going on for Days. Can You Help?

Review by antar_mukh on 2013-06-21
OMAHA, NEBRASKA -- We have been getting a call from this number [snip] from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. When we pick up, the person hangs up. We then call back using the redial feature. Then we get a message saying that -"this number you are dialing is disconnected." This has been going on for many days. Is there any way you can help us, either by blocking this number or solving this problem, by finding out how to get a hold of them? If this is a bogus number please do something to stop this. Thank you for your time.

Go to www.800notes.com or http://whocallsme.com and type in that phone number. You will find many people are having the same problem. It's a telemarketer. You may also want to remove your own phone number, to prevent other people from getting it and possibly harassing you....

Have you checked with your phone service provider to see if they offer a blocking service you can subscribe to? Try also not answering that number and just let it go to voice mail. There probably won't ever be a message but if you never answer they may get tired of calling and stop. If the unanswered ringing is annoying silence the phone ringer. As a last resort you might consider changing your number.

Probably a robocaller: the system calls hundreds of numbers, with maybe 10 telemarketers wanting to talk to you. If those 10 people are busy with other suckers, the system will hang up. That way, the 10 telemarketers always have someone on the line.
