Cell Phone Companies Informative - Request for assistance - I am seeking a new service provider
I have been researching cellular service providers in the hopes of finding a "better" company to switch to when my contract with Sprint expires in May.
I've been with Sprint more than five years - most of that time happily so, but I've noticed a distinct change (for the worse) in their customer service and policies (changing without written notice) since they merged with Nextel.
I had contemplated going to Verizon, but their reviews are giving me serious cause for concern -not that the Sprint reviews are any better.
I had a contract with Voicestream for years, too, but I cancelled my service and would really rather not go back after a very bad cs experience.
A company called Cricket Communications just started operating here in town and I've not heard anything about them. Are they reliable??? Dual band or strictly digital (there are a LOT of "dead zones" in the desert sw when you have a strictly digital service provider)?
Realizing that "good" and "cellular service provider" probably don't belong in the same sentence, is there a concensus as to which of the providers is at least "preferred"?
If I listen to Consumer Reports, they actually recommend Verizon Wireless. Is their assessment accurate, or am I better off looking elsewhere (or staying with Sprint PCS)?
I want to be able to make the best decision possible - and I hope the responses I get will benefit many others, too. :)
