Staples - Ripped Off
Computer " Demension 8110" - Complaint
PENSACOLA, FLORIDA -- Just recently I visited Staples's EasyTech Center for work on my computer. I guess the service is okay(if you are doing a general purchase of paper, pens/pencils, etc.); but, the cost, of which I had to pay up front, $145.23, which includes tax is really what got me. I had figured the cost for everything would be from $70-$80. They kept my computer for several days to run a diagnostic check @ $69.99 and they did a backup so I would not lose any of my data @ $69.99. Of course, they saved all of my data to my flash drive.
When I was called with the results, my hard-drive was okay, small amount of dust inside; but, my system was corrupt and they needed my CD that came with my computer to install the software at an additional cost of $99.99. I thought that was outrageous! I picked my computer up and took it to a computer wiz and he did the same thing they did at a cost much much less than $100.00. My computer is working fine, I'm sorry I did not think of him at first. I would have saved $145.23.
I only went to Staples because they are the only store here who has Dell Ink Cartridges; but I will never patronize them again for anything. I found the same cartridges I need for my Dell Printer V515w under a different name brand. I know Staples will not refund any money for disatisfaction of customers, so there wasn't any need to contact the store manager. I just wanted the consumers to know my experience with Staples and a lesson learned.
