Bersot DDS (Northeast Dental in Tampa, FL) Complaint - Rude and unreliable dentist

TAMPA, FLORIDA -- This complaint is about the Dr. Bersot's office (Northeast Dental) at 13905 Bruce B Downs. I do not recommend this dentist. They mangled my x-rays, never told me about it, and when I politely expressed disappointment in not being notified I was told to go to another dentist. My family went to this dentist for years (just maintenance dental care), then moved away for a while. When I came back to this dentist with my teenage children (who were both on their father's dental insurance) I was still waiting for my dental ins. to kick in from my new job. I did not want to wait, however, so I made an appointment to come in for x-rays, cleaning and to fill a cavity. Although it was standard procedure for everyone else to get a cleaning and x-rays on the same day, I was told I had to get the x-rays first and come back for another appointment for the rest, which I accepted without question. I paid over a hundred dollars for the x-rays right away, because I did not yet have insurance. They said they could not tell me anything that day because the x-ray machine was not working and they would have to wait for the results. I didn't complain, I went home waiting for a call from them when they got the x-rays. I did not receive any call from them. Two weeks later, I called them back asking when I could make an appointment for the cleaning and cavity, they told me my x-rays had been destroyed and I had to do them over. When I told the doctor I was disappointed at not being notifed and felt that I was not being treated like other patients (who had been notified and were able to get multiple procedures at one sitting), I was told to go to another dentist. My family has gone to this dentist for years, and I am shocked at the complete lack of common courtesy. I never even received an apology. I never raised my voice at anyone there, never said anything rude, all I did was say that I was disappointed and I was told to go elsewhere. It was clear that I was not welcome in that office from the getgo and all I can think is that it was because I was not currently on insurance (even though I was paying for everything right away). I can't think of any other reason for them to not want a client.

I would not trust this dentist with the important work of filling a cavity, especially now.
