MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE -- I received a letter in the mail from Delta saying that I have not flown in 1 year and my mileage was going to be taken away. So, I thought OK I will transfer the mileage to my sister - and she can use it. But, Delta is charging you $.01 per mile(s) transferred and a $30.00 handling fee. I liked to stroke out. Really! I guess the government now owns Delta as well. Leave Memphis, good riddance.

Most frequent flyer plans now require frequent flying to keep miles active... However, there are plenty things you can due to keep your miles active without getting on a plane, like eating at certain restaurants, shopping at certain sites online, renting cars, booking hotels, etc...
