Priceline Is Listing Hotels at 4 Star Levels That Should Be 2 Star
ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- Recently I booked a hotel thru Priceline (the Buena Vista Palace in Orlando) which was represented by Priceline to be a 4 star hotel. Upon arrival to the BVP it took 20 minutes to check in, as the hotels front desk had one worker. The common areas of the Hotel were very worn and the hotel had a musty smell.
Once I got to my room, I found two dead bugs in the sheets of one of the beds in my room. I called the front desk to alert them and asked them to send someone up to ensure they were not bed bugs. 1.5 hours later, after calling again, someone finally came to my room to inspect the situation and assured me they were not bed bugs but refused to move me to another room. I asked to speak to a manager who showed up 30 minutes later and apologized but said they had been having some bug problems. Not what you want to hear from your 4 star hotel. I got the impression from the hotel that my issue was not the first time that had happen that day.
I called Priceline and told them about this situation and their reaction was to say sorry it happened and here is a $5 coupon. I have enjoyed Priceline Services in the past but after this incident I could not recommend to anyone to use Priceline, as they are void of customer service when there is a problem. Not to mention they are listing a hotel on their site as a 4 star hotel which clearly is a 2 star hotel at best. Priceline's reputation will continue to decline with customer service like this.
