Home Depot - Farmingdale, Long Island Complaint - Parking Lot - Misc
FARMINGDALE, NEW YORK -- If you value your car one place you may want to avoid is Home Depot by Republic Airport in Farmingdale NY. This Home Depot, having a parking lot alongside the airport has winds that pick up blowing shopping carts across the lot.
My incident occurred as I parked at the far end of the lot trying to avoid contractors loading up flatbed carts. I noticed the winds as I got out of my car and felt safe to be at the far end. Low and behold when I got back to my car, a shopping cart was plastered into the rear bumper of my BMW 528. It was obvious the cart reached high speeds as not only was there a mark on the bumper but the cart rode up into the lower trunk section and put a nice double dent below the truck closure.
Of course Home Depo is not resposnsible for the acts of shopping carts brought on by other customers. My complaint is knowing the winds are up, they should have an employee round up carts that are hazardess. Seeing an employee round up carts at Home Depot is a rare occurrence and probably lies at the fault of poor management. They tell you the carts have flat tires making it harder for winds to blow the carts but trust me it ain’t so.
Though I filed a complaint at the store it is unlikely anything will be done. At least the manager could have said he’ll round up the carts to prevent the occurrence from happening to other valued customers.
