DirecTV - Worst Service in the World
TV service - Complaint
EDISON, NEW JERSEY -- DirecTV - I recently signed up for TV service with DirecTV - first time customer.
Somebody from DirecTV called me and made me sign up for some promotion. Installer came on Saturday, during verification of channels we found out that few channels were missing and customer service told technician that those channels are not a part of the package that I have ordered, big surprise, those channels were discussed during our negotiation when DirectTV called me for promotion.
Somebody from Cancellation dept told us they will be calling us again in an hour which did not happen, so I had to call after 2 hours and some lady picks up my phone and she without any further arguments add missing channels and agreed with me that I will not be charged any extra as its suppose to be a part of my package. Next day I received email from DirecTV on new price tag ( way more than what we agreed upon during order). On Monday, I called them to discuss and they said they can not help so I asked them to cancel and here is the big surprise, "They says - since its already 24 hours, DirecTV can NOT cancel my service and I am bound to stay with them for 2 years!!!"
After many conversations, somebody from cancellation dept says, he will put $100 credit on my account, but can not cancel my service otherwise I have to pay early termination penalty of 24 months, $20/month. Well, this is the story, bottomline, "DirecTV sucks",its all bull[snip] they they have 30 million customers, its all big [snip] flowing around, I told them that I will be walking out as soon as I get cablevision offer and never ever come back to such big liars and cheaters.
This is for information for other customers, please stay away from LIARS/CHEATERS, even though they record our conversations during ordering, they lie, they lie and put you on 24 months contract and you have no choice but I am sure I will walk out soon as I can not afford to stay with people who just play with emotions and cheat, bottomline think before you sign up, its your hard earn money which you can not afford to loose.
