Hotwire - Switched Reservation for One With Lower Rating & Higher Cost
Hotwire Hotels Deals - Complaint
NORTH CAROLINA -- I received a Hotwire promotion for Boone, NC good for Aug.4,2013 thru Jan 1, 2014. I received it via e-mail on 07/06/2031 at 3:11 PM. I called at approx. 0730 the next morning to book a room for 4 nights in October. When I received the confirmation, the price had gone up from $53.00/night to $59.00/ and the star rating had dropped for 3 stars to 2 stars.
I called their customer service and was told that I'd have to FAX them a copy of the ad that I'd received. I explaned that I live 25 miles from the nearest FAX machine & ask for an e-mail address. I was told that the only way I can contact them is by FAX. I then told the lady that I realized that she is only doing what she's told but that she could kindly let her superiors know that I'd no longer be doing business with Hotwire if they could not be more truthful and accomodating to their customers.
She sperted of the usual speal about "anything else I can help you with" and "short customer service servey". The 1st questions was a "rateing on 1-10" how was the customer service. I said "1" and the machine thanked me and disconnected. I've delt with Hotwire for years an average of 3 times a year. That's ended. If they make it that hard to deal with them & they aren't willing to correct the rating and cost of the room, I don't need them. There are plenty of other choices out there. Thank you.
