Time Warner Cable - I should have chosen Direct TV
MT. AIRY, NORTH CAROLINA -- I recently moved to the area and decided to go with Time Warner Cable for HD Cable and Internet. I was previously with Direct TV after switching from Comcast at my former location. Direct TV was essentially flawless, but the H.O. Association here does not approve Dishes.
I picked up equipment at the local TWC office, and all of it was used and beat up. The techs were supposed to hook up the outside, and did not hook it up right. Three days later, a tech got the signal to the house, but the Internet Modem/Router would not work. After the third try, he finally brought a piece of equipment that worked.
Three weeks into my service with TWC, the HD Cable DVR has crashed. Now I have to wait, take time off work, and be here for a tech to show up tomorrow afternoon.
In addition to the technical issues, the billing is messed up, with movie channes added and charged that were not ordered.
This is an incompetent company. Make other choices if they are available.
