Crestwood Suites - NW Fwy - Not a Bad Place to Stay - Good Value for Your Money
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- We moved to Houston last year and stayed here for a total of 11 months!!
Its a fantastic extended stay place and really worth the money when you compare it to other extended stay hotels. The rooms are pretty big (obviously depending on what you decided to pay). The staff were super friendly and I could not fault them at all. They also accept pets which was a big plus for me. Its best, if you can, to get a room at the front of the hotel rather than the back. They recently changed all the mattresses and seem to have flat screen TV's in most of the rooms. When we left (June 2013) they were in the process of painting all the rooms. I believe that new management had recently bought them and obviously they were doing a lot of maintenance. It really isn't far from a lot of the stores which was convenient. The rooms in the front were very clean and free from any critters.
Now having said all that the back of the hotel seems to be full of what I can only describe as low lifes. A lot of noise at night and very dirty. People cannot seem to grab the concept of throwing their trash away in the correct place. As a result there are roaches and it really does smell. I can comment on this as I was stuck with a room back here for a couple of months until we came home one night to find that someone had tried to break into the room which is when we were moved to the front of the building. Also there are lot of residents that do not clean up after their own dogs (being a dog owner it infuriates me) and as a result there is rather a lot of feaces around the outside of the property!! Management do not make any attempt to clean this up. We had also noticed 'drug' activity going on around the property. Last point during our stay I had spoken to a couple of people who had their vehicles broken into, yes they were parked at the rear of the property. There are cameras at the front and our vehicle was safe there.
Even though there are a few bad points I really think the good out weigh the bad especially if you are on a budget, just remember to be a little aware of your surroundings and you will just do fine.
