Wal-mart - Non Equal Opportunity Employer
Management - Complaint
RENO, NEVADA -- I had applied for Wal-mart early June 2013, on June 24th I was told I got the job and to go drug test.I did the drug test and passed but my background check was taking weeks to come in. I had gotten a letter in the mail from where they send for your background saying they found nothing. I called Wal-mart numerous of times asking them when can I start but their reply was, " Your background check is still pending."
When I was filling out the background check information sheet I was honest and put on the paper that I did have pending Domestic Battery case. That didn't show up on my record which is understandable because it's a pending case and not a conviction. On July 12, 2013 I received a letter in the mailing telling me that Wal-mart has decided to rescind their job offer based on my background findings. I called Wal-mart to see why and they told me it was based on my background report.
I call the background agency and asked them what's going on because they told me they didn't find anything. I called Wal-mart again and demanded to know why I didn't have the job when my background check came up clean. The lady working in personal told me it was because I self reported my Domestic Battery. Maybe I should start lying about information like that and I'll get a job but I was always told to be honest about information because what you don't tell them they will find out and it will look bad on me as a future employee.
I used to respect a love shopping at Walmart but now I won't go near one unless I absolutely have too.
