Window Air Conditioner - Complaint
AUGUSTA, GEORGIA -- I purchased a Frigidiare air conditioner which proved to be defective because of the constant scratching sound which could be heard whenever the power was turned on. Since the appliance was installed in the bedroom, there was no way I could tolerate the noise. I contacted Frigidaire's customer service department and requested that someone take a look at the air conditioner to determine if something could be done to remedy the problem. I was told that rather than send a repair person they would replace the unit with a new one. This was the beginning of the summer hot weather ---so I agreed to the solution.
Everyday for four weeks I called customer service to determine the status of my complaint only to be told that the "back office" was working on it and someone would be in touch within 2 days. Here it is nearly 5 weeks later and nothing has been solved. I have begun to contact every consumer protection agency and await a resolution.
