I Regret Buying Into the Tivo Koolaid - Never Again!
ALVISO, CALIFORNIA -- This really is too much. Buying the hardware is not enough; in order to use it, even just a regular DVR, their customer service says you still have to pay them the monthly $15 for the privilege of owning the box. They claim their "value add" is in providing the TV programming schedules (something the cable companies do more accurately for free), but neglect to mention that they frequently get the schedules wrong and entirely miss recordings. I don't want that kind of service, much less pay them for it. So they deliberately disabled the box so that it's totally useless. You can't manually record or even just watch cable channels! This is unethical business practice and I would advise folks to stay away from a corporation with such an arrogant disregard for their customers.
