Awful Airline Polices. Read the Fine Print Before You Book With Spirit Airlines

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA -- My father is dying and I had to get a flight from California to Florida. A friend (now ex friend, not really but I am alittle pi**ed off) suggested Spirit because they were inexpensive. I booked a flight right away and an hour later got a call from my mom that my dad was getting much worse and I needed to come ASAP.
My Spirit flight was for the next morning so I looked to see if they had a sooner flight, they didn't. I called within 2 hours of booking the flight to cancel and was informed that I would not get any refund at all. They charged me a cancellation fee of $200.00 and gave me a credit ( that had to be used within 60 days) of $200.00. I've never had this experience with an airline before. It was my mistake not to look at their cancellation policy. I was in a emotional state and wasn't thinking straight but what an awful way to do business! Shame on you Spirit Airlines!
I read somewhere after the fact that Spirit Airlines is on the worst of the worst airlines list in the world! Spirit is the only us airline that made the list and they are #11 on the list of worst of the worst airlines.
