Comcast's Refusal to Communicate in English
Customer Service - Complaint
I attempted to have my services moved from Longmont CO to Fruita CO. Initially, the customer service representative in Longmont informed me there was no Comcast Services in Fruita, CO. I went on-line and found their address and 866 number. Upon calling that number, the customer service representative could neither speak English, nor understand English. I repeatedly provided information....slowly speaking..and he still couldn't repeat back information I provided to him.
After a couple of days of recalling those events, I attempted to contact a physical company in Fruita (no phone no.) and in Grand Junction-where I was informed I must call the 866 number, even though those individuals could not speak nor understand slowly spoken English. Upon calling the 866 number again, I was once again speaking with an individual with limited English communication skills. And again, I was forced to repeat myself several times. What is of primary concern for me is that Comcast provides no communication assets that allow the customer to speak to someone else other than those who speak with deep foreign accents and are unable to convey an English speaking process. It is my opinion that these call centers are employed overseas (likely India) and that Comcast chooses to ignore a customer's basic fundamental right to be afforded proper communication for which they can obtain normal services in a timely and efficient manner.
Though I have temporarily decided to use Comcast, I am currently in the process of finding more suitable companies who choose to treat their customers in a dignified, meaningful manner.
