Microsoft Network (MSN) Complaint - Windows xp
NOVI, MICHIGAN -- On October 29th,I purchased the Windows xp software and a tech support program. That day I tried installing the program. I got a four page print-out telling me the incompatibiities of that program with my Dell Dimension 4100 computer (one year old). Tech support helped with some of the incompatibilities, but stated that the driver (Conexant) in my computer was not compatible and had not been readied for xp.
I took the software back to CompUSA immediately and was told that I could not get a refund from them, but had to go directly to Microsoft. I did that and sent it back to 'Returns' at Microsoft that day.
To this day I have not received any refund. IT is December 3, 2001. If this is service, I don't need it. And why was no warning placed on the packet that this software was not compatible with certain drivers? I don't think that Microsoft was unaware of this situation from the beginning.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
I would like my money back obviously. I would like some explanation as to the absence of any warning when it was obvious to Microsoft (technicians admitted this) that it would not work with certain hardware.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
