Netspend - Fraud
MIAMI, FLORIDA -- I just activated my Netspend card for my SSI direct deposit. After reading the reviews over a week scared me to the SSA office to see if my Netspend card info is correct. To my discoveryb someone changed my address and a Arkansas number was included in my contact. SSA clerk wouldn't tell me anything more only that my information been hacked. Anyway she advised me to set up a password block to prevent anyone from making changes over the phone including myself. The SSA representatives wouldn't be able to see my information I would have to go to the SSA office in person. When I arrived home the same day I received a new card in the mail I haven't ordered with different acct. #. I called Netspend to inform them they said the only thing should change is the card number not account or route #. And advised me to not activate it. So, since the deadline passed to make financial changes with SSA (3rd Friday of every month) I'm a sitting, sweating duck waiting for my deposit and then I'm going to SSA to change and cancel Netspend. If they still found a way to steal my money such as transferring it to a load PAK card like I heard some victims had done to them Then I'm in on the class lawsuit. But, SSA will send you another check if reported stolen or missing. you will get it by the 7th no later than the 10th while they investigate.
