Ashley Furniture Informative - Good People but No Furniture
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CALIFORNIA -- 02-17-2006 - Bought entire living room of furniture for only $2700.00. Salesperson Cristina said "usually 2 weeks for delivery". She was very friendly. I signed their contract agreeing to 30% restocking fee if I cancelled my order. I then paid for entire purchase.
03-07-2006 - Furniture was not here so I called the store and spoke to Store Manager, John, who was very helpful and very nice. He advised me that my furniture would be delivered on 03-25-2006. I then called David Irwin in the Ashley Furniture corporate office and complimented John on his customer service. (John was VERY good, he let me vent my upset and did his best to get my furniture for me and he was polite and courteous the entire time - he deserved the compliment)
03-15-2006 - Called store and spoke with Manager John who stated furniture would not be in until sometime in April. He offered a complete refund, and did NOT charge me a re-stocking fee. This made sense as the furniture was not in-stock.
Would I shop again at Ashley? Yes. Would I be scared about not getting any actual furniture? Yes. Would I trust John to take good care of his customers? Absolutely! I am sad to read all the complaints on this site about Ashley Furniture, and I am sad that I never got the furniture that I ordered. But I know that the Fountain Valley Store Manager John did everything he could besides building the furniture himself.
