Baker College - Horrible Experience, Complete Nightmare and Waste of Time!
CLINTON TOWNSHIP/ALLEN PARK, MICHIGAN -- After 3 years of getting poor advice from academic advisors, financial aid and instructors alike, I felt dejected and so ripped off! Not only money, but time as well. I am an older student going back to school, but after last semester I am no longer willing to affiliate with Baker College. I have transferred to another school and I hope to apply for 3 different programs this coming February.
Waste of time and money. Baker is horribly run with some of the worst instructors (I cannot believe some of them are seen fit to teach grade school level much less college level). I had a few good ones, but mainly inadequate and obviously not qualified. Academic advisors telling you to drop a class "immediately, like today or by noon tomorrow" and then having an instructor give out 50+ points in the 10th week, basically handing people entry into a particular program. Being lied to outright by the acting Dean of Health Sciences because the original Dean left last minute. It was a terrible experience and would not suggest anyone waste 1 minute going to Baker.
Add to it, they keep anything you don't use in financial aid and it supposedly "goes back into the pool to help other students." After 3 years of looking, I could not find any "other students." Save time, energy and money and go to OCC, WCCC, or MCCC. You'd be better off in the long run.
