General Motors Complaint - Transmission Failures, problems
NEW HAMPSHIRE -- If you look down these lists of reviews... page after page, you will find at least 2-3 per page, reviews expressing dispair over transmissions that are obviously faulty with the Chevy and GMC line of 4X4 trucks. I too, am in this class of people, who purchased a vehicle with visions of patriotism and hopes of reliability, only to find that we have been literally handed a car "bomb." My truck, and 2 of my friend's trucks all have the same dreaded transmission problem, and unfortunately, we who only get paid meagerly, get to pay heavily for a mistake/miscalculation/profit that GM was able to make and get away with by making a defective product year after year after year. All of these complaints, and such a small audience... what about the rest of the consumers that did not have the time/energy/money to come to this site to make thier voice heard? Is it too late for my poor Jimmy? The truck I so love? Is it too late for ANY of these vehicles on these pages to at least receive a formal "I'm sorry" from the GM engineers who kept this tranny on the production line, or a "please let us help get you straight again? Thank you for buying our product year after year." Can I recoup any of my cost to repair her? Until then, I save, and save, and create a new sign for my Jimmy until I can get some help to fix it...
Cost to purchase new: $25,000+
Cost to replace/repair faulty Tranny: $2500
Cost to buy a running '97 Jimmy on eBay: $3000
Current Vehicle net worth: $500
Using my Jimmy as a gigantic lawn ornament on wheels: PRICELESS
Please take some of this as satire, but please also recognize that I LOVE the GM line. ALL of my vehicles are GM (I have 4), and this is the only problem that I have had with any of my vehicles that I do not classify as "normal wear and tear." I love this truck and want to see it running properly again. I need to know if there is any help available for this problem that seems to be VERY prevalent with the trannys in most of these trucks. Thank you!
