Grasshopper Mower Co. Complaint - Grasshopper Mower- Service after Sale absolutely deplorable

Review by mower727 on 2006-03-17
MOUNDRIGE, KANSAS -- For 15 months I have treis to resolve this issue. After they were paid $ 10.900.- they no longer cared what happened. The machine fell apart, literally in several pieces after 2 months of use.It took 4 months for them to authorize a delaer to try to repair.Their authorized dealer
did not repair it properlyand never advised of the status. 3months later i went to check with the outcome that i have had a machine sitting in my garage since Jan 2005 that I cannot use.We have called and called and emailed and an attorney wroye a ltter which was ignored as well.
This has been a nightmare and all they do is pass the buck, from the dealership we bought it from to the repairshops, back to marketing, back to dealer etc, etc. He said she said everybody said and on and on.Last word was they would not authorize another repair or give us money back.
Locally the word is that their service "stinks"

The Grasshoppers I've owned have been indestructible. I also have a great dealer. If you don't operate the equipment any better than you spell, I think that points to the problem.

I also had two grasshoppers before I purchased this machine, unfortunately I am not going to have the luck with this one that I had with my previous ones. I am concerned that if you happen to get one that does have a major problem
that you do find yourself getting the run around. Again I am hoping for the best but will have to wait and see. At this point I am very disappointed.

If complainant - mower727 - is listed correctly they appear to be FROM the same town that the manufacturer is located. The small town of Moundridge, Kansas. I would agree with the dealer response from Florida on the service of this commercial grade of equipment. If this mower727 has a problem with a manufacturer in the same town of only 1600 people - he may be disgruntled for some other reason. After all, one of his neighbors actually had something to do with building his mower in the first place. Ask someone for help in this community. My bet is there won't be any problem if you did.
