WINDHAM, MAINE -- Went to VIP Windham ME for oil change & Inspection Sticker. Charged me $8.72 per quart for 6 quarts of oil Valoline regular 10/30 and $1.00 for synthetic PEEK oil? Total :$52 for oil, $2.00 for filter and $21.00 for labor!!! $75.00 for oil change!!

Failed State inspection. Gave me a $800 estimate to replace brake pads, calipers and all hoses(car has 70,000 miles). However inspection report fails due to "rusted brake lines"! Just had rear pads replaced 4 months ago!!

VIP is not a place to go for any type of auto repair. Untrustworthy!!

sounds like you should find a different place to get your oil changed or at least call around to find out what other places charge to see if you're getting ripped off in that regard.

I don't trust private places to do state inspections. I think that they're more likely to fail a vehicle in the hopes that the customer will have the repair done by them, thereby generating more revenue. I have to have my vehicles inspected every two years as well and even though there's a private place near me, I would rather spend the extra time and drive a few minutes out of my way to the state facility. That way I know if I fail the inspection, they have no financial stake in any required repairs.
