CarMax - Lost My Title
2005 Toyota Sienna
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- The word "CarMax" stands for manipulating the deal to get Maximum profit on your Car. I bought a 2005 Toyota Sienna LE with 84,000 miles, two years ago for for their "no-haggle" $12,500 price tag, plus paid $2,000 for an extended warranty as well as financing it through CarMax. The vehicle ran well, and after getting a job in another country after driving the car for six months, I took the van to CarMax and they said they would pay me $9,500. I paid the CarMax loan so I could get the title, but they lost it and it took a couple of months to get another one. I had to leave the car with family for a few months until I returned to Houston. The van was in very good condition with only 16,000 additional miles added. After checking it, I was told the only issue was it needed new front tires.
When their buy back amount popped up on the screen it was for $6,000! That is the lowest Kelly Blue Book price for a trade-in in "fair" condition. Because of their fault for losing the title, I wasn't able to sell the van for a higher amount. I'm a first-time and last-time CarMax customer.
