Holiday Inn Rewards Program - Complicated Double Points Rewards Program
IHG Rewards July 2013 - Complaint
I had 3 stays at the Holiday Inn Express properties in various cities in Germany, and one stay at the Holiday Inn in Munich. Although I had booked my reservations by telephone and had given my Rewards number, I realized that near the end on my trip that I was not earning the double rewards after my second stay.
I inquired at the hotel and was told that I had to go online and perform a special registration to earn the double points. I tried to register and somehow instead of registering for the double points I ended up creating a second IHG account. When I returned home and called IHG to ask that a correction be made and that my account be credited for the double points for the 3 qualifying stays I was told (by Joan in a foreign country) that the "system" does not allow her to do that. I am very disappointed in the "SYSTEM". I think if you have a rewards number and you book your reservation with the number you should not have to do anything else to get your points -- Special promotion or not. Loyalty should have its REWARDS.
