Sears Complaint - Late fee scam
HOFFMAN, ILLINOIS -- I have been a customer of sears for many years. I purchased a home screen tv and was convinced to buy into their reward program for 1.00. My address was updated at the local store while I was on the phone with the customer service dept. Come to find out a month later they still had an old address. In Fef I contacted the Sears Gold Master Card rep and gave again the updated address. in march i get a bill for being late 1.00 which was a result on the award program. The company charged me 39.00. I called originally to bring their attention to the unfair matter, and the supervisor Valerie advised that she would have to take the reward program away in order to waive the late fee. This women was obviously reading from a script as she was repeating herself over and over. When asking for a her servisor she advised me that they do not take phone calls. Unbeleivable. Sears can have their $1.00 back so that I can have my 39.00 back and who cares about the reward points since I will never shop there again. This is not just talk, I will never shop their again. JcPenneys, Mervyns, Macys, all have a genuine customer service team.
