Coastal Storm Protection, Inc. Complaint - Hurricane Shutters

Review by sick of liars and cheats on 2006-03-21
Warning to folks living on the South East Coast. Just because someone has an ad in the phone book does NOT make them a reputable company. I placed an order for roll down hurricane shutters and storm panels with Coastal Storm Protection, Inc., owned and operated by R*ck J*rvis in Beaufort, SC. He received a check for over $8,000 as a deposit on the roll downs in Sept. 2005. In November he showed up and installed some tracks on the house and dropped off a pile of uncut sheet metal. He asked for and received another $4,000 with the promise he would return the following week, with the rest of the materials, to finish the job.
It is now March of 2006, and he has done nothing else. I contacted numerous roll down shutter manufacturers, none have work orders for my shutters. I HAVE found shutter companies that have fired Mr. J*rvis for shoddy workmanship.
The thing that I find most despicable is that his web site offers FREE BIBLE COURSES!
This person travels thoughout GA and FL as well.
BEWARE of people who promise to help you safe-guard your home against hurricane damage while victimizing you and stealing your money.

That seems to be the trend in this country “Kick um when they’re up, Kick um when they’re down”. When you get someone to do a job for you “TRUST” should not be a factor.

You PAID 8k deposit and then another 4k before the work was even started? What happened when you filed suit in December?
