PNC Bank - Stay Away From PNC They Are Thieves, the Bank Is a Scam
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA -- This review is for the branch at 6th and Spring Garden, however PNC bank as a bank is Horrible. They are thieves.
I have had my business account for about 3 months now with PNC and they have done absolutely nothing but steal every dollar I have placed in the account. I have "miscellaneous withdraws" which the bank cannot explain.. which overdrafts the account $100, $200, every few days..When I don't write checks make credit card deposits everyday and there is no excuse or reason for the overdrafts. When I call to complain, I am on the automated system for 2-5 hours, or lied to by the branch supervisor, or told the person who knows what is going on is on "vacation" or not at their desk. When you go into the bank or call, you are treated with extreme disrespect by all of the tellers and are made to feel as though they are doing you a favor by letting you in the bank,
They purposely change around your deposits and withdraws so that the account overdrafts ridiculous amounts of money.
To make matters worse, I have a payroll account and an operating account... I have had an issue with a previous payroll company (who I am no longer with) drawing money from my account. In June I reported this and asked for a hold to be put on them. Nothing was done, so I no longer put money into that account, and contacted the payroll company, who stated that it is PNC doing this, not them. So I went in and asked Jean (the bank supervisor) to close the account. She agreed that a business can't run like this and said that the payroll company even came into the bank and talked to her and she wouldn't give them my information, so they "gave her an attitude". (keep in mind that the payroll company is who referred me to PNC) but again a lot of talking, a promise that it would be brought up to another mysterious bank manager, who makes all of the decisions, who I still have never met, but nothing was really done.
So I called and was promised a call back.. again nothing was done. Until all of my money was missing from my operating account so I went to the branch again( Keep in mind, I had to close my store to leave and go to the bank) I was told that this was withdrawn to cover the money taken from the payroll account, I threatened a police report.. So Jean gave me a hug, promised it would be fixed and they would no longer let these false charges be taken from my account and it would be closed and a dispute was being placed on the account to find out what was going on.Some of the money was refunded. But now with a $175.00 overdraft fee placed on the operating account, because it over drafted when they took all of my money out to cover the other fraudulent withdraws.
Again, furious I called the bank, and was told by Jean "honey make a deposit to cover it for now and I'll refund the overdraft fees since they weren't your fault",I made the deposit.. The overdraft fees were never refunded.. and I was told by Jean "sweetheart, I can only ask, I can't actually do it" So after over $500.00 (in 2 weeks) in overdraft fees and several calls and trips to the bank and corporate office... the account still is not closed.
So finally today, there is another $185 missing from my operating account..in which they don't document on online banking (its just missing money) after 2 days of phone calls, being placed on hold, promised a call back, disconnected... I am told that this money was taken out for more overdraft fees from the new charges on the payroll account (from the same company that they supposedly put a dispute on 2 months ago, on the account they supposedly closed) PNC apparently did not give them any money from my account, but I am responsible for all of the overdrafts for every time they tried to take the money out. ..And again Jean is on vacation, the supervisor is away from her desk and I'll get a call back.
This has been 2 days now, I was promised a call back again at 10:00 this morning by the "escalation department"that I waited 3 hours on hold to talk to, it is now10:00 at night and I still have received no call and my money is still missing. .I have spoken with several other business owners in the area and they all agree and will also be closing their accounts with PNC. THEY ARE THIEVES AND WILL TAKE EVERY DOLLAR FROM YOUR POCKET!
Edited update: I wrote this review yesterday, as of this morning, $175.00 was debited from my account, my debit card was reported stolen when I tried to pay a bill, I called the phone number on the card and was told it was a branch decision to close my account, and the $175.00 was another "miscellaneous withdraw". This cannot be real, please read all the consumer reviews on PNC, all the rip off reports, and that they recently had a $90 million class action law suit to pay back all of the other people they have done this to. Do yourself a HUGE favor, Stay away from PNC Bank.
