Hotwire - Completely Ruthless and Uncaring - Stay Away !!
I booked a hotel for two nights in Barcelona. I hit "send" prematurely and the dates were wrong (Aug. 16/17th booked instead of August 9/10). I discovered the error less than 24 hours and immediately tried to remedy as the cost was $450.
Not only were the numbers provided on the site useless when calling from Spain, the Hotwire staff refused to deal with someone back in Canada whom I had asked to deal with this. I finally received a number that worked.
The individual I spoke with would not budge and simply told me, in so many words, your problem pal. This notwithstanding I am a so-called Hotwire Express Member.
I am a practicing lawyer in my community and intend on suing them. I am considering a potential class action claim as my research shows Hotwire has burned many, many people and shown absolutely no flexibility.
I will also be writing every site such this one to warn people. Finally, I am reporting these people to the Better Business Bureau.
