Wellington Animal Hospital Cary NC Complaint - Poor Kennel Care
CARY, NORTH CAROLINA -- Just wanted to let all know. We have been taking our pet GSD (German Shepherd Dog) to Wellington Animal Hospital in Cary, NC for the past 3 yrs for his medications/vaccines. So far so good. We kept him in the Kennel (i.e boarding) at this hospital's place and thought he would be in good hands. But we were higly mistaken. We had kept him just for the weekend and when I picked him up sunday he had a cut paw and bruised front leg. How in the world could this happen?? He was put in a run which is 4 ft x 3ft x 5ft so that he had plenty of room and turns out he couldn't walk. When asked how he got hurt the staff had no idea. They gave me some lame excuse that just like humans the dog might have sprained it's ankle. It was only when I took a look at his paw that I noticed he was badly cut and bruised. Someone definitely did some harm to him. And the cheezy part was that they asked me to take the dog to some VSA pet care next door to look at him. I mean why the hell did I keep the dog at your hospital's kennel in the first place? So that he should get hurt. This was the most disgusting experience my dog has had and from what has happened I'll never ever take him to Wellington to be boarded. The staff is badly trained they recruit high school kids who don't know what the hell they are doing. Also they charge quite a bit $28 a night + $7 pick up fee on sunday. This is a sheer rip off. To cover up the did provide some pain medication and a free consulation which I never took my dog to after an incident like this. Took him to another vet. I normally keep my pet at Reddy Creek Kennel (i.e boarding only) and they do a fantastic job. He always comes back happy. So people beware of Wellington Animal Hospital's boarding facilities.
